Gallstones:

Gallstones are common!

Many people have them, but most have no bother from them. Despite this fact, cholecystectomy is one of the commonest surgical procedures carried out in the UK. The number of patients undergoing surgery may be a reflection on the safety and rapid recovery from surgery which has recently become the "norm".
It is a fact that as the treatment for a condition becomes more acceptable, the number of patients requesting treatment will rise.

Laparoscopic surgery for gall stones is a solution to those patients with symptoms or complications.
